Royal Diving Academy is an Austrian band with roots in the Viennese Psychedelic-Rock Subculture. Before they founded the Academy they released the album alrite as a trio under the name Glee.

The three piece band created an elaborate sound by combining a rock approach with a jazz attitude. Traces of Miles Davis are found in the compositions as well as allusions to the Beatles. Especially when it comes to harmonizing and the joy of experimenting with sounds and the roles of the different instruments. Sometimes you find the bass to be the lead instrument. Sometimes the drums break out of the rhythmic cage to let the others stick to the beat. It is full of tongue in cheek moves and musical references.
